I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. Youth soccer,
T-ball, and competitive swimming began between the ages of 6-8 and summer days were always spent swimming, and then running and biking around the neighborhood. Swimming took on the most importance throughout middle school and then in high school as a letterman and state qualifier, but then I finally discovered triathlon in college. I completed my first triathlon in April of 2000 in Clermont Florida and I was instantly hooked. Over the past 10 seasons I have raced in over 40 triathlons; this includes 6 sprints, 19 olympics, 12 half ironmans, and 4 ironmans, culminating last year as a finisher of the Ford Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. I know the future holds faster splits and more rewarding finishes and I can’t wait to toe the line at my next big race wearing the colors of Ballou Skies!
